Samarbetet mellan EMS och Norbergfestival sträcker sig nästan 20 år tillbaka i tiden och har inkluderat en lång rad föreställningar på Risbergs Verkstad i samarbete med Region Västmanland, beställningsverk som producerats i residens på EMS och framförts i Mimer samt ljudinstallationer och flerkanaliga presentationer.

Till årets 25-årsjubileum av Norbergfestival är EMS stolta över att presentera tre artister med tre distinkt personliga förhållningssätt till komposition och liveframträdanden av elektronisk musik: Marta Forsberg + Sindri Runudde, Lars Åkerlund och Egil Kalman.

Lars Åkerlund är musiker, artist och kompositör med en klassisk skolning i gitarrspel. Sedan 1980-talet har han arbetat som kompositör både solo och i samarbete med andra musiker och konstnärer från olika discipliner. Han är medgrundare till Lucky People Center. Han har arbetat med grupper som Rambert Dance Company, Finlands Nationalbalett och GöteborgsOperan samt koreografer som Per Jonsson, Björn Elisson och Christina Caprioli. Han har också arbetat med musiker som Zbigniew Karkowski, Kasper Toeplitz, Dror Feiler, Eryck Abecassis, Julien Ottavi,
Lise-Lotte Norelius, Sebastian Öberg, Jean-Louis Huhta och Johan Söderberg.

Under de senaste tio åren har Åkerlund främst fokuserat på komposition, live-elektronik, turnéer, samarbeten och utgivning av verk på ett 20-tal olika skivbolag.

Lars Åkerlund har varit aktiv som tonsättare på EMS sedan 1980-talet och presenteras nu som en del av Elektronmusikstudios jubileumsshowcase på Norbergfestival.

The collaboration between EMS and Norbergfestival goes back almost 20 years and has included a long-running series of off-site performances at Risbergs Verkstad in collaboration with Region Västmanland, commissioned pieces produced in residency at EMS and performed in Mimer as well as sound installations and multichannel presentations.

For this year’s anniversary edition of Norbergfestival EMS is proud to present three performers with three distinctly personal approaches to compositions and the live performance of electronic music: Marta Forsberg + Sindri Runudde, Lars Åkerlund and Egil Kalman.

Lars Åkerlund is a musician, performer and composer with a classical guitar training. Since the 1980’s he has worked as composer both solo and in collaboration with other musicians and artists from various disciplines. He is a co-founder of the Lucky People Center. He has worked with groups such as the Rambert Dance Company, the Finnish National Ballet and the Göteborg Opera and choreographers like Per Jonsson, Björn Elisson and Christina Caprioli. He also worked with musicians like Zbigniew Karkowski, Kasper Toeplitz, Dror Feiler, Eryck Abecassis, Julien Ottavi, Lise-Lotte Norelius, Sebastian Öberg, Jean-Louis Huhta and Johan Söderberg.

Over the past ten years Åkerlund has primarily focused on composition, live electronics, touring, collaborations and the publication of works on
20 or so different record labels. Lars has been active as a composer at EMS since the 1980’s and is presented as part of Elektronmusikstudion
60 years jubilee showcase.
