Pedro Oliveira is a Brazilian researcher, artist, and educator working with and around sound studies and decolonial thought.
He is currently an artist-in-residence at IASPIS Stockholm, during which he will continue working on a long-term project exploring and intervening on the colonial politics of sonic biometrics, and in particular the deployment of accent recognition systems in the asylum seeking process of the European Union.

His artistic work fuses theoretical, archival, and sonic research in the shape of audio essays, composition, and performance. This project has been presented at and supported by Deutschlandfunk Kultur, CTM Festival Berlin, Transmediale, Goethe-Institute Brussels, and the Berlin Senate for Culture and Europe.
Pedro holds a PhD from Universität der Künste Berlin and an MA from the Hochschule für Künste Bremen.
