Jelena Glazova is a sound artist/visual artist and poet based in Riga, Latvia. Working in interdisciplinary areas of contemporary art, combining in her works image, poetic text, experimental sound and installation.
She took part in experimental music and sound art festival Sound around Kaliningrad (Kaliningrad, Russia), Vilnius Noise Week (Vilnius, Lithuania), Skaņu Mežs (Riga, Latvia), Art’s Birthday electronic music festival 2013 (Stockholm, Sweden), Noise and Fury 2013 (Moscow, Russia) etc, and was a guest composer at EMS Stockholm and WORM in 2013 (Rotterdam, NL). As a visual artist Jelena had a few solo exhibitions, including solo shows at the Latvian Museum of Photography (2010) and Latvian Contemporary Art Centre (LCCA) (2011), participated in numerous group exhibitions, festivals and projects in Latvia, Russia, USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, South Korea, Canada and other countries. Her first book of poems "Transfers" was published in 2013 and is nominated for the Latvian Literary Prize of the year for best debut book. A second book is to be published soon by the Estonian publishing house "Paranoia" in Estonian and English.
