Zwißler is a composer, musician and musicologist based in Cologne, Germany.
After completing a master's degree in musicology, linguistics
and philosophy at the Universities of Tübingen and Cologne,
he moved on to study electronic composition at the electronic studio of Folkwang University of Arts in Essen until his diploma
in 2006.
He teaches at several universities and music academies, and since 2019 he is part of the staff of the PRESET project at Osnabrueck University, focusing on research on the fundamentals of Electronic Music.
Florian also works as sound projectionist with numerous ensembles for contemporary music. As a synthesizer soloist
he has performed solo and within various formations around Germany, Europe and abroad.
His work has a focus on historic analogue synthesizer systems, and his stay at EMS will be devoted to the composition of a piece on EMS’s Buchla synthesizer. This will become part
of a CD production funded by the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat) that will feature compositions for historic studio synthesizers.
