Philip Liu is an artist working with sound and digital media.
His artistic practices reflect deep engagements with the implications of structural transformation on auditory, visual, and digital culture, such as derivatives of technology-driven human extensions and the evolving aesthetic standards that have emerged. Moreover, his creative pursuits focus on mediating
unexpected outcomes of both machines and humans, therefore, endeavors to tame multifaceted pattern generators composed of physics simulations, chaos systems, or neural networks, among others. 

Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Culture Technology at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Prior to this he earned a MA degree in Sound Studies from Berlin University of the Arts, and a MA degree in Computational Arts from Goldsmiths University of London. Other educations are Economics and Music(BA) and Sonology (Postgraduate diploma). 

He has presented his works internationally at various galleries, concert halls, festivals, and conferences such as Akademie der K√ľnste (DE), International Computer Music Conference (US), New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival (US), BEaSTFEAST (UK), Asia Culture Center (KR), Art and Tech Festival (KR), Platform-L Gallery (KR), CosMo 40 Gallery (KR), among others.
