Slávo Krekovič is a musician and sound artist, musicologist, music and media art curator and cultural organizer based in Bratislava. He studied Musicology and Sonology. His creative interests evolve around complex systems, human-machine interaction, gestural control and algorithmic improvisation with custom software and various hardware devices. He performs with electronics and interactive instruments both solo and as a member of various collectives (Shibuya Motors, VRITTI, Voice Over Noise). Recently he has been developing an interactive performance system based on a computer-controlled modular synthesizer.
Slávo Krekovič was the Head of the Multimedia Studio study programme and Lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology. He is Editor-in-chief of 3/4 cultural magazine, director of NEXT Festival of experimental music, co-founder and art director of independent cultural centre A4 – Space of Contemporary Culture in Bratislava.
He performed at festivals such as Improtech Paris/New York, Norbergfestival, Wavelength Festival, Venice Architecture Bienale, UH Fest, Audio Art, Alternativa, Multiplace, and Sonica.
