Jessica Sligter is a musician, composer and producer, as well as the creator of Nuts And Bolts (a gear-talk podcast and video series on The Quietus), from the Netherlands and Norway.
Her work at large mixes crooner and experimental musics in a 'noir' conceptual space. Whether working with free improvisation, extended technique for voice, or electro acoustic feedback - deconstruction, conflict and austerity are common themes in her work.
Among her releases are Polycrisis:yes! (Butler & Butler 2018), Untitled #2/The Mute (Unsounds 2018), and A Sense Of Growth (Hubro 2016).
She has toured extensively throughout the Western World, Scandinavia, and the Levant. Commissioned works include a collaborative piece with Sarah Hennies (2018), Movements I for Tøyen Fil og Klafferi, Untitled #2/The Mute with Wilbert Bulsink (2016), Two Figures for Oslo14 ensemble (2016), and Dark Passenger with Jenny Hval (2014).
