At EMS February 22–March 15, 2027

Kirstine Kjeldsen (she/they) is a sound artist, composer, and musician who lives and works in Berlin. She works with embodied forms of knowledge production through sound and listening, with a particular interest in themes of vulnerability and transgression. Her practice combines sound synthesis, custom software design, improvisation, and listening-based research, treating composition as an experimental site for investigating perception.

Kirstine holds an MA in Sound Studies and Sonic Arts from the Berlin University of the Arts and an MA in Electronic Music and Sound Art from the Danish National Academy of Music. In 2024 she received the ‘Nye Veje’ research grant from the Danish Composers’ Society and in 2025, she was awarded the Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Talent Prize. Her works have been presented, among others, at Silent Green (DE), Inkonst (SE), Global Forest Kunstverein (DE), and Kirsten Kjærs Museum (DK).
