Heðin Ziska Davidsen

Heðin Ziska Davidsen started out in the mid 90’s as a rock/metal guitarist with a keen interest in jazz and improvisation. In 2002 he formed the band Tjant which serves as a platform for his compositions as well as an artistic playground for him and the members of the group. His practice has evolved from then to include more electronic and experimental approaches to music, incorporating field recordings, modular synths and sound design in compositions, performances and sound installations. Currently he is exploring ways to incorporate statistical data sets into electronic music and using this data to control various parameters of an electronic setup to be used in composition and performance with the aim of understanding and experiencing statistics emotionally rather than logically.

Heðin holds a Master of Music degree in New Audiences and Innovative Practice at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts.
