Leon Louder
At EMS June 23–July 6, 2025

Leon Louder is a Canadian composer, sound designer, and experimental musician whose multifaceted practice blends DIY inventiveness with a deep exploration of sound and technology.
His work is defined by an engagement with unorthodox sound sources, and a transformative approach to the real-world sonic environment, incorporating accidents, dream-like juxtapositions, and a deep interest in the psychological effects of technology. He is most interested in the possibilities for sound as a radical language that can change the nature of our relationship with reality, generating new ecosystems of feeling and imagination.
Recent projects include Entomophonia, a 2023 commission for the Montreal Insectarium and MUTEK festival, plunderphonic radio collage You’re Killing Me, Bro, the Scattered Ensemble, a collective of musicians blending live sampling with controlled improvisation, as well as ongoing audiovisual collaborations.
