Giulio Dal Lago
At EMS 28 May–2 June 2025

Giuli Dal Lago (they/them) is a London-based sound artist and performer who works at the intersection of sound and performance art. Giuli reclaims the body as a site of political struggle—a space for affirming gender identity and advancing queer celebration and liberation.
Their work spans diverse formats, including site-specific sound interventions and “tampered” environments that bring to life everyday spaces and create a discussion between the space and the audience.
Giuli uses and creates masks to organize the variety of their work into more specific sonic and emotional worlds. In this way, every mask represents a “character” with specific psychological traits, a unique sound world, and choreography.
Giuli’s research often expands through collaborative practices with other performers, as well as visual and sound artists. They co-founded the Sister Punch duo and are a member of the sound collective Subphonics. Giuli also curates TIDES, a series of post-rave live art events that take place periodically in London and Italy. Giuli’s work has been showcased internationally at festivals and art spaces, including Berlin’s KitKat Club (DE), London’s Iklectik, Cafe Oto, Fold, and Electrowerkz (UK), Performistanbul in Istanbul (TR), Artissima Art Fair in Turin, and Chiasmo Festival in Grottaglie (IT).
