Denis Lecoeuche is a sound artist and experimental musician based in Paris, France. His work lies at a crossroads between drone, noise, concrete and experimental electronic music. He studied Machine Learning at École Centrale de Lyon and holds a Master’s degree in Sonic Arts from INA GRM & Université Gustave Eiffel. In 2018 he co-founded Editions1OF1, a label publishing experimental music along with unique objects limited-to-1-copy, on which he released several works as Transient Cat and numerous collaborations. In 2025 he is participating in workshops and residencies at CTM Festival, Sónar Festival and EMS.

Improvisation and serendipity are at the core of his work, as well as the willingness to offer to all kinds of source materials the legitimacy of being polished, deconstructed, and destroyed. His ongoing research on neural audio synthesis involves training and subverting his own machine learning models, revealing their inner glitches and making them fail admirably. In a world where technology is more than ever used as a tool of oppression, over-optimization and exploitation, he seeks through experimental music and technological sound exploration a space to express his own sub-optimality, dissonances, and vulnerabilities.
