Petra Hermanova

Petra Hermanova is a Berlin-based singer and composer working with the autoharp, voice and pipe organ. Her solo debut In Death’s Eyes, drifting between song and heavy distorted drones, utilizes techniques from both folk and sacred traditions to grapple with the spiritual and earthly dimensions of devastating loss. In Death’s Eyes received international acclaim and several award nominations including the Czech Grammy.
Since 2023, Hermanova has performed extensively solo and with various ensembles in churches, art venues, monuments, and theatres, including Volksbühne (DE), Gropius Bau (DE), Der Aa-kerk (NL), Bergen Cathedral (NO), Völkerschlachtdenkmal (DE) or Graz Mausoleum (AT). She was a resident of the SHAPE+ Platform and appeared at numerous contemporary music festivals such as Lunchmeat (CZ), EKKO (NO), Intonal (SE), CTM (DE), Insomnia (NO) and Romaeuropa (IT). She composed music for the documentary film Lapilli, which premiered at the 58th Karlovy Vary IFF.
