Jon Eirik Boska

Jon Eirik Boska is a Norwegian composer, percussionist, and vocalist whose ever-evolving solo performances pulsate with ecstatic improvisations. His latest project, Hydropsyche, he explores additive and polyrhythmic sequencing on modular and analog synthesizers. The debut album Exhumed & Forgiven, released on June 6th via Unguarded, features 8 glacial and emotive melody-forward compositions creating a contained but hypnotic sense of movement throughout. The Ransom Note described it as “a well-crafted, cinematic and powerful debut of angst, turmoil, catharsis, and perseverance.” Previous Hydropsyche releases include two EPs Scree (2018, High Heal) and Vestiges (2019).

He has appeared at festivals such as Lunchmeat, Berliner Festspiele, and Fotonica, and opened the 2023 Prague Quadrennial. A prolific collaborator and live performer, Boska has produced an award-winning album Kingdom Come with Fiordmoss, performed with rRoxymore, Reece Cox and Petra Hermanova.
