Jair-Rohm Parker Wells

Jair-Rohm Parker Wells is an American bassist, Chapman Stickist, composer, and producer whose work bridges avant-garde improvisation, electroacoustic composition, and jazz innovation. After more than 40 years in Europe (Sweden and Germany), he is currently based in the United States.
He has performed and recorded internationally with artists including Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie, The Cure), Jonathan Kane (Swans), Elliott Sharp, Eugene Chadbourne, and John Sinclair. His solo work explores the relationship between resonance, timbre, and live electronics in addition to employing extended techniques on electric upright bass viol and digital processing environments such as Csound.
Parker Wells’ performances have been featured at venues and festivals across Europe and North America including Fylkingen (Stockholm), The Rotunda (Philadelphia), Shapeshifter Plus (NYC), Safehouse (Brighton), and Vahdat Hall (Tehran).
He will be artist-in-residence at EMS, developing new material for solo bass and electronics.
