Denis Lecoeuche
At EMS May 4–17, 2026

Denis Lecoeuche, a.k.a. Transient Cat, is a composer and sound artist based in Paris, France. His work lies at a crossroads between noise, drone, concrete and experimental music, with improvisation and serendipity at the core of his practice, as well as the willingness to treat any kind of sound material as legitimate and worth being polished, deconstructed, or destroyed.
He co-founded Editions1OF1, a label publishing experimental music and unique objects limited-to-1-copy, where he released several solo and collaborative works. He studied Machine Learning at École Centrale de Lyon and holds a Master’s degree in Sonic Arts from INA GRM & Univ. Gustave Eiffel. He recently participated in residencies at CTM Festival (DE) and EMS (SE). His piece “Bounce and Fall” was released on raster’s “soundtrack europe 2025” compilation.
During his residency at EMS, he will deepen his experimentations merging DIY neural audio synthesis (i.e. machine learning-based sound synthesis) with old-school analog synthesizers, and will work on new multi-channel compositions.
