Corin Ileto

At EMS May 5–25, 2025

Corin Ileto is a Filipina-Australian electronic music producer, performer and composer working in the field of experimental electronic music, sound art and sound design. In her compositions, traditional forms merge with hyper-digital sounds to create new imaginary realms. Coming from a background in classical piano, Ileto is interested in creating a sonic space in which western classical music can be hybridized with contemporary electronic production and non-western forms. Her releases are speculative mythologies drawing from science fiction, western classical music, and her Filipino ancestral heritage.

Since 2015 she’s been active as an experimental electronic producer under her name ‘CORIN’, released multiple albums including ‘Manifest’ ( 2019), ‘Enantiodromia’ (2021), and ambient piano based release ‘Araw’ (2021). In 2023 Ileto released her sophomore album Lux Aeterna on British label UIQ which was accompanied by a live AV performance which toured locally, and across Europe and Asia. Based in Sydney, Ileto has garnered praise across Australia performing at major festivals including Unsound Festival (Adelaide, 2023) , VIVID (Sydney, 2023), Dark Mofo (Hobart, 2023) and Now or Never (Melbourne, 2024).  She’s performed extensively internationally  including the Palais De Tokyo (2019) Berlin Atonal (Berlin, 2023), CTM Festival (Berlin, 2022), Robot Festival (Bologna, 2023), WOS Festival (Santiago de Compostela, 2023), Lunchmeat Festival (Prague, 2023), L.E.V. Matadero (Madrid, 2023) and Unfold x Festival (Seoul, 2024).

As a composer and sound designer, Ileto works across a broad spectrum ranging from video, theater and surround sound installations often collaborating with dancer Angela Goh, Filipinx performance artist Phasmahammer, queer collective Club Ate and Australia’s leading indigenous intercultural dance company Marrugeku.  She’s composed for projects that have been presented at major art/performance institutions across Australia including the Art Gallery of NSW, Carriageworks and the Sydney Opera House.

In 2024, Ileto completed a 3 month residency at the Cite Internationale des Arts (Paris) via Creative Australia for the development of a forthcoming electro-acoustic piano based performance work. This year she also plans to release her third full length electronic album. This spring, Ileto is in residency at Elektronmusik Studion (Sweden) and Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts (Norway) composing a new multichannel installation/performance that explores the concepts of sound as sentient and gravitational.

Corin Ileto’s residency is kindly supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW.
