Sam Karugu

Sam Karugu is a Kenyan, Nairobi/Kampala-based musician, audio artist and filmmaker. His Recent projects include making a microtonal retunable xylophone MIDI controller based on the embaire instrument in a collaborative co-creation project, and working on a solo album and a series of collaborative albums and performances. For this residency, he will explore the effects of space on sounds in recorded music as compared to sound in spaces in the physical world, the relation to timbre, volume and human perception.
