Iver Kim

At EMS August 5–September 4, 2026

Iver Kim is a composer, visual artist, and intermedia artist working across electroacoustic composition, field recording, and audiovisual installation. With a background in fine art and music technology, her practice approaches sound as a spatial and painterly medium, occasionally drawing from classical music and instrumental performance within electronic contexts.

Her work centers on subtle and often barely perceptible sonic events, small vibrations, fragile gestures, and the thresholds between noise, tone, and silence. Engaging with themes of “impossible dialogues” between nature, humanity, and the digital, she works within unstable in-between states where perception shifts and time stretches, exploring how minimal sonic matter can unfold into immersive spatial and temporal experiences through field recordings, analog synthesis, and live electronics.

Her work has been presented in cities including Seoul, Osaka, Münster, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, and Utrecht, as well as in spatial audio contexts such as ICLC (International Conference on Live Coding) using WFS Collider and performances with 4DSOUND.
