Riley Stevens

Neuter is the pseudonym of Riley S, a noise musician and audio engineer living in Brooklyn, NY. A longtime participant in NYC’s DIY scene, Riley builds harsh but consonant sound textures in Max/MSP using simple samplers and feedback systems. She performs most frequently outside of traditional venues and institutional contexts. Her work above all else prioritizes existing within (and the existence of) a DIY, anti-profit art scene and the operation of the spaces upon which this scene is predicated.
