Egil Kalman (b. 1989) is a Kristiansand based, Swedish double
bass player and synthesist, improviser and composer.
His solo record debut - 'Kingdom of Bells, Egil Kalman
plays the Synthi 100' was released in 2022
on iDeal Recordings.
His playing can also be heard in groups like Miman,
a duo with Zoe Efstathiou, a duo with Fredrik Rasten
among others.
At EMS he will continue with an ongoing investigation
of possibilities for details from Scandinavian folk music
to be interpreted with modular synthesizers as a part
of his PhD at the University of Agder.
