Gabriel Kleber is an electronic musician and sound artist based in Switzerland and Barcelona. In both his installations and experimental instruments, he aims to build systems that promote playfulness and lucky discoveries by encouraging visitors and performers to choose their own approach to interaction.
Aside from his solo compositions, he has collaborated with others on projects ranging from contemporary dance to theatre and experimental cinema.
He has a background in psychology and art history and has studied electronic music in Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
His most recent project, Lightingale, is an instrument that translates light and gestures into music. During his stay at EMS he will work with the Halldorophone and his own Cristal Baschet as part of a wider research series on experimental musical instruments.
