His sound is characterized by the mixing of analog sounds with every day like sounds from the environment, for example the "pregones" of the subway in Mexico, creating environments and a sound narrative through them. His sound discourse is nothing more than a representation of his daily life translated into the machine, in an attempt to make her human (make her laugh, cry, sing).
With his music project Techno para dos, Raúl has played around the world: MOD, Festival Internacional Cervantino, Off Sonar México, Day Zero Festival (experimental stage), Slakthuset (Sweden), Miscelana Art Gallery (Barcelona), Rts. FM (Moscow) among others.
Recently he premiered his first work, "Dorje", with original music and dance with the Nohbords company which was presented at the Museo Universitario del Chopo (UNAM) in Mexico City.
Raúl Villamil is also a teacher at the Arco Art School in Mexico and currently directs the Sound Art course where artists such as Rogelio Sosa, Alvaro Ruiza Mayagoitia, Humberto Monopolar and Leslie Garcia have performed.
