Niko-Matti Ahti collects, records and even makes sounds which he thereafter arranges to streams and lumps of "music" in different contexts. The last 20 years he has mostly worked with the likes of Kiila, Kemialliset ystävät, Avarus and Päivänsäde, and with various musical friendships throughout the world. Recently different sound arts have taken all the more stronger grip of him. Ahti is also a member of Himera work group in Turku, Finland.
In the summer of 2017 Ahti works mostly with three things: to finish his first translation – Willy Kyrklund's Aigaion (1957) from Swedish to Finnish – and to complete his recordings as a duo with his wife Marja Johansson and to start to perform with the duo. In a few weeks Ahti's and Birgir Örn Jonsson's combo Bersabea will release their first lp “The Newest Historic Site” on Ikuisuus.
